Fresh Face Series: DIY Face Masks!

Ever take a look at your face and just think that it needs a bit of a pick me up?  Try out these simple DIY face masks that will bring back your face in no time at all!

Dry and dull skin is in need of some serious moisture.  Try mashing up a single banana until it reaches a smooth paste like consistency and just apply it to your face and let sit for 10-15 min.  If you are in need of even extra moisture add about 1 table spoon of honey.  Not only is honey a great moisturizer it is also great at combating breakouts!

Shrink your pores by mixing vinegar and water together and using it as a toner! I personally prefer to use this one at night and then rinse it off in the morning since I find that vinegar can be a strong sent, I feel that everyone else can smell it!

Lemon and honey will help create a mask that will rid your face of any dryness as well as leave it soft and smooth!  For this face mask squeeze  half a lemon into a bowl and then add some olive oil!  The acids form the lemon will help break down the dead skin while the olive oil will give your face a moisture surge!

Do you think you would try some of these masks out!? Let me know in the comments below!

Summer-Proof Your Makeup!

During the winter months I pray for the day when summer will finally arrive! I absolutely love being out and about during the summer months, except with the burning heat I am forced to deal with a Makeup Meltdown!  So here are a few tips that help keep me looking cool during these summer months.

SKIP THE FOUNDATION  there is no need to walk around with an inch of foundation on your face. If you don't let your face breathe it can cause major breakouts during the summer months since your oil factories are working overtime. So instead reach for a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream.  If you don't have either one and you don't feel like buying one make your own!  You can take your current foundation and mix it with a little bit of moisturizer or aloe.  In doing so, this will thin out your foundation but still give you a little extra coverage!

TRY A LIPSTAIN instead of your lipstick which can just "melt" off your lips in no time at all in hot weather.  Check out Revlons Just Bitten Lipstain (about $7 at the drugstore), and just top it off with a little bit of chapstick since lip stains can be a bit drying.

SOAK UP THE SHINE and no I'm not talking about the sun rays... I'm talking about the shine that can pop up on your face after running around in the heat!  Blotting papers can work wonders in helping absorb excess oils and keeping your face shine free!  However the key word here is BLOT, try not to wipe your face which could cause your makeup to smear! :o

Hopefully you found some of these tips helpful!  Let me know what your tricks are to avoiding a Makeup Meltdown!
